Hi there,My name's Meredith, and as you've probably guessed, I'm a mama. I'm 27 years old and I live in Michigan with my hubby, Jim, and our beautiful baby daughter, Penelope.
I'm currently a barista at a coffee shop and am considering going back to school for my secondary education degree so I can put my Bachelor's degree in English to some use. But if you know anything about Michigan, then you know that being a teacher here SUCKS right now, so going back to school is a few years down the line, I think.
Ok, so what's my blog about? Well, me and my life. I'm trying to introduce new aspects to it to make it fun and more entertaining for those of you that actually follow it (thank you!) I'm currently trying to re-invent myself a bit, in an attempt to become more stylish and well, to find myself again. Becoming a mama has somewhat taken that from me, so I'm trying to renew my sense of self. Plus, blogging is such a great way to empty my head.
Something I talk about quite frequently is my neurological disorder. It's called Multi-Focal Motor Neuropathy with Conduction Blocks. It's an autoimmune disease and it basically means that my body is attacking the sheaths that protect my nerves, which in turn makes my hands and feet feel numb constantly (and they have been numb since January 2011). I recently was diagnosed (March 2011) and began treatment for it in May 2011. I talk about this a lot because I hope that others with this rare condition will maybe find my blog and communicate with me about what they're going through. I have yet to meet another person with this condition and would love to talk to others suffering from it, just to know I'm not alone in this! So, if you stumble upon my blog, please feel free to email me and we can bond over our numb limbs and stupid medical tests and expensive treatments we have to do.
I also like to paint! I have a home-based business called Clever Characters (which you can visit HERE) and see what it's all about. I love doing this and my hope is that someday I can just be a stay-at-home mama and paint whenever I can. My fingers are crossed!
I also like to think that I can take decent pictures. I have an okay camera and I like pretty things, most specifically my daughter, but so I take pictures and put them on here for you to ooh and ahh at. I have never studied photography nor do I consider myself a professional in ANY way, but it's fun and I love making memories.
